Any batsman who remains unbeaten at the crease at the end of the innings is referred to as not out on the scoreboard with an asterisk symbol next to the runs scored by him/her. In test matches a batsman may remain unbeaten when the team innings come to an end. In one day limited over matches, two batsmen may remain not out when the overs get exhausted.
