Matthew Valentine Fleming,a former English cricketer was born on 12th December 1964 in Macclesfield, Cheshire. He played for England and Kent County Cricket Club. Currently, he is the MCC representative in Afghanistan.

Matthew Fleming made his first-class debut in 1989. The first two scoring shots of Fleming in first-class matches were sixes. In 219 matches, he scored 9206 runs at a batting average of 30.48. With a highest score of 138 runs, he had 11 centuries and forty two half centuries to his credit. He also grabbed 290 wickets with the best bowling figures of 5 wickets for 51 runs. In 314 List A matches, Fleming scored 6161 runs at an average of 24.74. Including a top score of 125 runs, he had four centuries and twenty eight half centuries in his List A career. He also took 377 wickets in these matches with the best bowling figures of 5 wickets for 27 runs. He retired from cricket in 2002 and was said to be a brilliant cover fielder. He has even written books on cricket.

Matthew Fleming made his One Day International debut against India in 1997 at Sharjah. He scored 139 runs in the eleven ODIs he played for England. He also took 17 wickets in these matches. His best bowling figures in these matches were 4 wickets for 45 runs against India.
