Robert Kenworthy Platt is better known as Bob and is a former fist-class cricketer for Yorkshire and Northamptonshire in England. Bob played for Yorkshire from 1955 till 1963 and for Northamptonshire in 1964. During these times, he played 96 matches and 3 matches respectively.

In the year 1956, Platt played 2 matches for the Combined Services. However, his misfortune in life was that despite being a prolific wicket taker, his performance was dominated by seam bowlers. Had that not being the case Platt had a sure shot at the English Test cricket team. Nonetheless, Platt had a strong partnership with another fellow pacer, Fred Trueman and took 301 wickets at first-class matches.
