Danny Morrison
Danny Morrison, born as Daniel Kyle Morrison, played for the New Zealand Cricket team, Black Caps. He was born and brought up in Auckland, New Zealand. His expertise is as an outswinger bowler.
His career took an up-swing when he was able to take a hat-trick in 1994 while playing against India in an international ODI. Only 21 players worldwide, including 2 of New Zealand have been able to pull-off this feat. Danny had a unique style of bowling, which placed him a cut above the rest.
Danny was nicknamed as “The Duckman” cause of his notable dismissals on 24 occasions out of 48 Tests that he played. But despite these, Danny did show his batting abilities in 1997, when he won a match for New Zealand on a 10th wicket partnership with Nathan Astle.
The match-winning test performance marked the end of Danny’s test cricket batting era. He retired from international cricket in 1997.
After retirement, Danny served at other respectable positions namely Guest speaker for cricket shows, coaching at schools, clubs and institutions, Host for “Cricket Company” aired on Sky Sports, Commentator for TVNZ, Sky Sports, Fox Sports, etc.
Danny Morisson’s cricket statistics records a total of 48 tests and 96 ODIs played with a bowling average of 34.68 and 27.53 respectively.
