Jane Powell
Jane Powell was born in Sheffield, England and was the former captain of the England women’s national cricket team. Jane has played a total of 6 Test matches and 24 one day internationals and holds the highest score of 115 runs against India.
Jane is also a prolific coach and among England's top most female coaches. She has coached the England women's A Team towards 2 European Cups, while now she is the head coach of England women.
Jane is the recipient of the Level 3 Cricket Coach Award and is the very first female coach to heads into the Level 4 course. Jane has also received the Level 4 hockey coach award, being the head coach of England's U14, U17, U18 as well as U21 hockey teams from 1988 to 1998.
Before her coaching career, Jane Powell also played professionally for England from 1979 to 1991. Her debut came for the England U18 team, while she also led the English women’s team in the 1988 World Cup in Australia.
Apart from being a teacher for the past 23 years, Jane now serves as the Head of the PE Department at The Chase School, Malvern, Worcs.
