Rachel Priest is a right handed batsman as well as wicketkeeper who has come through Central Districts. She was a part of the New Zealand A squad for the first time in January 2007. In her first match, she blasted 36 runs from 34 deliveries and due to this performance, she was promoted to the national team for the tours of England and Australia. Considering her batting skills, she can bat in the top six batsmen. However, during the last couple of seasons, she bats lower in the order due to which she can score quick runs late in the game.
