Balachandra Akhil

Balachandra Akhil is a cricketer representing Karnataka in Ranji Trophy and the other matches played on state-level. Born in 1977 in Bangalore, Karnataka, Akhil was signed by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the year 2008. His major teams include Karnataka, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kochi Tuskers Kerala.

Balachandra Akhil went on to make his debut in ‘First-Class’ cricket in the year 1998. IPL has been a big opportunity for him as it was his debut in the international level.

In 51 First-Class Matches played so far, Akhil has scored 1810 runs; which include a century and 14 half-centuries. He has an average of one wicket per first-class match. The economy has also been good, i.e. 2.57. Strike rate on an average has come out to be 87.4. The highest score has been ‘135’. In 35 Twenty20 Matches played till date, Akhil has scored 321 runs. 24 wickets have been obtained. Moreover, he played in 69 List A matches too.

At present, Akhil is a part of the IPL team, Kochi Tuskers Kerala,2011.
