Yogesh used to play the role of a wicketkeeper while playing for Maharashtra, and Maharashtra Under-19s. Last year, i.e. in the year 2008, he was signed by Mumbai franchise of IPL. As such, he is a member of Mumbai Indians right now.
Yogesh made his debut in cricket in the year 2006 in a 4-day match that had been played against Railways in the first month of the year; that too, in the first week. At that time, Yogesh represented Maharashtra. The match had ended in a draw. In this game, Yogesh could add 12 runs to the total of 237 in the first innings. In the second innings, he made 30/230 runs. Yogesh tends to hit the ball hard. This led to the decision of his inclusion in Mumbai Indians. Later on, he had also secured a place in ‘Fringe Indian Squad’ with regards to ‘Israel Tour’.
