Candacy Atkins is a Right arm medium pace bowler and a Right handed batsman with the West Indies National Women’s cricket team.
Candacy Atkins made her debut in International cricket in a One day International match against the Sri Lanka Women’s team at Couva, Trinidad in 2003. Atkins scored 11 runs before she was bowled out by Shashikala Siriwardene. She later bowled 6.4 overs giving away 24 runs and claimed the wicket of Chamani Seneviratna on a leg before wicket appeal. However, Sri Lanka went on to win the match by 7 wickets. In 2004, Atkins played her first and only test match till date. The test was played against the Pakistan Women’s team at Karachi, Pakistan. In the first innings, Atkins bowled 22 overs which included 7 maidens and gave away 49 runs claiming the wicket of Sajjida Shah. Coming to bat at the 10th position, she remained not out at 1 run. In the second innings which the West Indies Women were asked to follow on, Atkins scored 6 runs and was caught out. The match ended in a draw.
