Michael Kasprowicz
Michael Kasprowicz is a right arm fast medium bowler and a right handed batsman with the Australian cricket team. He has also played for the Glamorgan, Essex, ICL World XI, Leicestershire, Queensland and the Mumbai Champs cricket teams.
Michael started playing first class cricket in 1989. He made his debut in International cricket in a One day International match against the West Indies at Melbourne in 1995. Kasprowicz claimed the wicket of Sherwin Campbell and gave away 32 runs in the 6 overs that he bowled. Australia won the match by 24 runs.
In 1996, Kasprowicz debuted in test cricket in a match once again against the West Indies at Brisbane. After scoring just 6 runs and getting out in the first innings, Kasprowicz bowled a disciplined 22 overs giving away just 60 runs. Though his spell included 5 maiden overs, he could not claim any wickets. In the second innings he once again bowled a steady 13 overs and gave away just 29 runs to help Australia win the match by 123 runs.
In 2003, Kasprowicz recorded best bowling figure of his career of 5 wickets for 45 runs against Sri Lanka at Colombo. In February 2008, He retired from cricket and joined the Mumbai Champs in the rebel Indian Cricket League.
In a total of 43 One day International matches, Kasprowicz has claimed 67 wickets at an economy of 4.51 runs per over. He also has a total of 113 wickets at an economy of 3.12 runs per over in the 38 test matches that he has played.
