Shami Ahmed is an Indian cricketer. He has played for the Bengal Cricket Team since the 2010/2011 season. Other teams he’s played for include the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Delhi Daredevils. He has also played for the Punjab Kings and the Gujarat Titans.

Mohammed Shami Ahmed was born on September 3, 1990, in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, India. He stands 173 cm tall and he bats right-handed. He is also a right-handed bowler with a fast pace.His father Tauseef Ali, and his brother Mohammed Kaif also played cricket professionally.
Career
He turned pro in the 2010/2011 season, playing for the Bengal Cricket Team. In 2011, he signed with the Kolkata Knight Riders and was with them until 2013.Also in 2013, he made his Test Cricket debut in a match against the West Indies. Earlier that year, he also debuted in the One Day International, playing against Pakistan.
In 2014, Ahmed signed with the Delhi Daredevils. Then from 2019-2021, he played for the Punjab Kings. Since 2022, he has been playing for the Gujarat Titans.
He holds several professional records including the most consecutive four wickets in an innings in ODI. He also has the 10th career-best strike rate in ODIs.
In 2023, he was awarded the Purple Cap for the Indian Premier League 2023 season.
