Deepak Lokhandersingh Chahar is a professional Indian Cricketer, born in Agra, Uttar Pradesh on 7th August, 1992. Deepak is a right handed batsman and a right-arm medium bowler. He plays for Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy and domestic Cricket. He even got selected by the Rajasthan Royals Team to play in the Indian Premier League 2011. At present, he has been retained by the Rajasthan Royals team to play at the IPL 5 season 2012.
Chahar is a bowler who mainly relies on swing bowling. He is capable of swinging the ball both ways. He demonstrated this ability by picking up 8 wickets for just 10 runs against the in form Hyderabad Team. Due to this heroic performance by Deepak Chahar, the Hyderabad Team was bundled out on a meager score of just 21 runs which is also a record for the lowest total in the last 77 years. This performance was supported by the pitch which supported swing bowling for which Deepak Chahar is known for.
Chahar also has the knack of picking up wickets early in the innings which can be a boon during Twenty20 Cricket, where taking wickets is the only way bowlers can contain the batsmen. Deepak has managed to pick 46 wickets in the 14 First Class matches he has played till date.
