Bernard Hedges was a former Welsh cricket player who had played for the Glamorgan cricket team. This right hand batsman was the first player to have scored a List A century for the team, in 1963, with an innings of 103 against Somerset cricket team. During his youth times, Bernard played rugby and was known as a good player with Swansea and Pontypridd teams. He was also selected to play in the final Welsh Trail match.

Bernard played in most of the matches as an opening batsman irrespective of starting his career in the middle order. Of the 422 first class matches that he played, Hedges scored 17,733 runs, with a batting average of 25.22, with 21 hundreds and 84 fifties to his credit. His topmost score was 182. With right to bowling, Bernard bowled 572 balls, taking 3 wickets with a bowling average of 86.66.

Subsequently, he played in seven List A matches, scoring 250 runs with a batting average of 41.66. He made only one hundred and one fifty during his List A matches, with top score being 103. With right to his batting skills, he bowled around 228 balls, with 8 wickets of a bowling average of 16.75.
