Born in 1986 in Ashington, England, Ben Harmison is nicknamed as ‘Harmy’. At six feet five inches tall, Harmison is left handed batsman and also a right arm medium fast bowler. His crucial role at the cricket pitch is that of a batting all rounder.

Ben has been playing for the Durham cricket team since 2005 at squad no. 14. His first class debut match was in 2006 against Oxford UCCE team. With right to List A debut, he played for the first time against Bangladesh A in 2005. This is a lively fielder who is looking forward to developing his one day match skills.

This former England under 19 left handed batsman has scored a century on his first class debut in 2006. Moreover, he also finished this season with almost 563 runs at an average of 37.53 having 2 hundreds to his credit. Both these hundreds were in matches that were played outside the County championship. Subsequently, Ben hit his maiden championship century, 101 played against Warwickshire team in 2007.

Harmison came as a fielding replacement for his elder brother, in 2007 when playing the third test match against the team of West Indies. He is also the younger brother of former England fast pace bowler, Steve Harmison.
