William Smith
Will Smith or William Rew Smithimage:William Smith cricket|William Smith cricket was born in 1982 in Luton. He is an English cricket player who plays as a right hand batsman and also as a right arm off spin bowler.
As a schoolboy, he played minor county cricket for Bedfordshire. He moved in 2002 to Nottinghamshire team and played as an opening batsman during the Twenty20 matches. At present, standing five feet ten inches tall, Smith plays for the Durham cricket team since 2006.
Will, as he is known by, is also an exciting fielder who took great catches and fielded as the 12th Man for the England team at Trent Bridge. Irrespective of his form in Nottinghamshire, he didn’t get to establish himself within the Championship team and joined Durham team. Due to this, he was in his University town and a graduate of the Durham University; he captained Durham UCCE team gaining 2:1 honors in Biochemistry.
During the season of 2008, he established himself within the team and recorded his maiden first class double-hundred with 201 not out against Surrey team. Due to this, the team won the County Champion Division one for the first time in the history and Smith got the 2008 Player of the year award.
By 2008 November, he was appointed as the new captain of the Durham team and he continued to lead the team to their success later in 2009.
