Rajasthan Royals will be up against Otago in a crucial match in the Champions League t20 this season as both teams look to confirm their semi final berths. The match will be played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Tuesday, October 1.
Otago are currently in second place in Group A with 10 points from the 3 games that they have played. It is quite proper to say that Otago have been the most exciting team in the Champions League t20 this season.
The equation is very simple for the Kiwi side. A win will see them join the Royals from Group A in the semis while a loss would mean that other results will have to go their way for them to qualify for the semis.
The likes of Brendon McCullum and Nathan McCullum will be the players to watch out for in this unit while Ian Butler and Ryan Ten Doeschate are no pushovers either. This is an exceptionally talented t20 team that is brimming with desire and confidence.
The Rajasthan Royals are top of their group for now and although they have already qualified for the semis, the Rahul Dravid-led Royals will be pushing for a victory as that would mean that they can play their semifinal match in Jaipur, their home ground.
A loss will see them come up against MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi. The likes of Sanju Samson, Kevin Cooper and Brad Hodge are the men in form at the moment while we all know that there are some big match players in the Rajasthan Royals team.
The bowling will have to be sprt on against a strong Otago batting lineup that features Neil Broom, Ten Doeschate, James Neesham, and Hamish Rutherford, all of whom have the ability to turn a match on its head with some explosive batting.
This should be a cracker of a match considering the sheer quality of both the squads.
