After escaping with a draw, largely due to Steven Finn’s heroic innings, England now look to comeback in the 2nd Test of the series against New Zealand.
The match will take place in the windy Wellington.
England were not able to perform up to the expectations, in the first Test. Though, they did bounce back in the 2nd innings, they still have to assess a lot of areas where they lacked application in the 1st test.
England are expected to play the same team that played in the previous match, as they look to change the fortunes in their favour.
Luckily for England, they can bank on the experience of Stuart Broad and James Anderson, while Steve Finn is in the form of his life.
On the other hand, the Kiwis are high on confidence and looking forward to repeat the same performance.
Doug Bracewell, the fast bowler, who was not part of the previous test match, is out of contention for this match as well, as he is still recovering from injury.
Ian Butler is retained in the squad, considering Bracewell’s absence. He might get a game in the windy Wellington.
All in all, New Zealand unit looked strong in the previous match, and thus they are unlikely to make any changes to the team that performed well in 1st test.
Strong wind is forecast in Wellington for the next few days and pace bowlers will have trouble to adjust to the conditions, early on. Moreover, the pitch is expected to be free from demons, but still good for both bowlers and batsmen, who are willing to work hard.
