After putting up a better show in 2nd ODI of the series, Zimbabwe will meet the West Indies once again in the final, dead rubber of the series, tomorrow. The final game has also been staged in Grenada.
Zimbabwe batted really purposefully in the previous match, as their top order scored a good chunk of runs, and helped the team post a competitive score of above 270.
Craig Ervine was the top scorer with 80-odd runs, and his coming into form will be vital for Zimbabwe for the rest of series. He will be looking for another solid performance tomorrow.
Hamilton Masakadza and Vusi Sibanda were also good with their fifties, and they are also two more players that Zimbabwe will depend upon tomorrow and during the rest of the series as well.
Although there is no any need to make any drastic changes in the XI tomorrow, but Zimbabwe might opt to bring about a few new faces in the field tomorrow. Who knows, the change might bring a change of fortunes for them tomorrow.
On the other hand, there were a few alarming signs for the West Indies in the previous match, as the opposing batsmen looked at comfort against their bowling attack. It is expected that their bowling attack will come out firing in the next encounter.
Ramnaresh Sarwan finally came good for the West Indies with a match winning ton, and that will now sort out their middle order worries to a great extent.
With the series done and dusted, the Windies now have the luxury of trying the bench strength for the final ODI, and they are highly expected to make some changes in the lineup for tomorrow’s game.
The pitch in Grenada, as expected, will definitely be on the slower side, and spinners will have a big role tomorrow. However, pace bowlers willing to divert from one dimensional stock delivery and using variations are also likely to succeed, as captain Dwayne Bravo showed in the 2nd ODI.
