After giving away the ODI series in the penultimate match, England look to earn some pride, in the dead rubber against India tomorrow. The match has been scheduled in Dharamsala.
In the previous game, the English batsmen managed to put up a decent score on the board, i.e. above 250, but the Indian batsmen looked untroubled and reached the target with ease.
No drastic changes are expected in the English side for tomorrow’s encounter. The England team will be looking to put a more competitive total on the board, and for this they will require great skills, to outplay the Indian spinners.
The method is simple, if the English batsmen succeed to overcome the spinners, without giving easy wickets to them, then they can put an above par total on the board.
Alastair Cook’s bowlers, also need to focus on the basics, and different varieties, as they are playing in the sub-continental conditions. That is the only way this inexperienced English team, has an outside chance to upset the Indian team, and save face in this limited over series of the tour.
On the other hand, Dhoni’s men have been on the top of their game, and they will be looking for another perfect performance, that has been associated with this Indian team, on the home soil.
More luckily for India, the man who has been given so many chances at the top level, Rohit Sharma, has found his form. Ravindra Jadeja, has also impressed with his all-round performances.
The only weak link, in the team appears to be Gautam Gambhir, he will yet again, try to impress the selectors, if he gets a go in tomorrow’s game.
There is no reason, for India change the combination for tomorrow. However, as the series is already done and dusted, we may see some new faces in Dhoni XI for the upcoming match.
Both the teams will be looking to register an ODI win under their belt, and India will start as strong favorites to overhaul the English team.
