In the aftermath of a disappointing end to the previous ODI match, Australia and Sri Lanka will face each other once again in the final ODI of the series, to be played at Hobart.
The result of last match was not accepted gleefully by Sri Lanka, as they were very confident to chase down a just above 200 score. The match was called off due to wet outfield, which sparked controversy on the ICC rules, regarding such circumstances.
However, the result has been finalized, and both teams are looking forward to the next ODI. One noteworthy fact is that the Kangaroos cannot win this series.
The Australians managed to post a somewhat respectable total on the board, in the previous game. However, they were far from their best, and need to find a way out of the Sri Lankan pacers’ web.
A big blow has already struck the team, as the Australian captain, Michael Clarke, is extremely doubtful for tomorrow’s game, due to an ankle injury, which he sustained during a practice session.
Glenn Maxwell is expected to replace Clarke, unless selectors sworn another batsman in the squad, which is very unlikely.
No other replacement is likely, as Australia look to save face in tomorrow’s encounter.
While, the men from the emerald island, would have recovered from the anguish of the previous match result, and would be looking forward to make history.
No other team has ever defeated the Aussies in two ODI series at home, but this record is very likely to be grabbed by the men in blue.
Although, the Sri Lankans have tended to rotate their spinners, the tomorrow lineup is expected to match the previous XI.
The pitch is expected to play sluggish, as seen in the domestic matches, and spinners may finally have their say in the ultimate match.
The Sri Lankans have only played two ODIs against the Kangaroos at Hobart, and emerged as winners in both the matches. Sri Lanka could just be the favourites here.
