With the weekend drawing closer, the number of teams in the Champions League continues to drop as the second semi-final will be played on Friday.

Coming from two countries that are tradition powerhouses on the international circuit, Sydney Sixers will have the backing of all Australian fans while the home crowd will be behind Titans.

Sydney Sixers were the surprise winners in the Big Bash League but here they have shown that the title was no fluke. In a show of great consistency, the Sixers have had a flawless run in the tournament with four clinical wins. They will be faced with competition from Titans who have done exceedingly well to surprise many of their critics.

Sixers will be aware of the slight batting troubles that restricted them in the last match against Mumbai Indians. With Shane Watson not available any more, the task is challenging to live up to the standards.

With batting weaker, it is the bowling that gives them plenty of hope with test match prospects in the lineup. Mitchell Starc has 11 wickets so far while Pat Cummins was also amongst the wickets. The biggest trump card has been Josh Hazelwood who has conceded at less than five runs per over.

Titans finished second in their group after a nervy last day though their own match was washed out by rain. The team has done well under the captaincy of Martin van Jaarsveld.

Jacques Rudolph and Henry Davids have been amongst the runs that could come to hurt the team if the duo fall early on Friday.

Like their opponents, the Titans will rely on its bowling to deliver the goods. Roelof van der Merwe has been economical and has troubled the batsmen with his variation. Alfonso Thomas is where they will pin their hopes even though the Somerset and South African bowler has been expensive in the matches so far.

The match will be played in Centurion, starting at 5.30pm local time.
