The Match:
Mumbai Indians will host the Deccan Chargers in what will be the 59th game of the Indian Premier League. The game will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and will be a night game that starts at 8.00 pm local time. >
How the two teams match up:
It will suffice to say that the Mumbai Indians have already qualified for the last four stage with eight wins from 11 games whereas the Deccan Chargers are at the last position in the points table. They are out of the tournament and will be playing for pride alone. >
Ground Conditions: The game which will be played at Wankhede Stadium will see the two sides loving the bounce in the track, which will allow the ball to come on to the bat. This will mean that the sides will look to fill up their pace bowling departments as well.
The Teams: Mumbai Indians will not look to change things around too much. They did lose the last game but it was more of a poor batting effort from the side than anything else – something that has happened only twice in the tournament so far. On the other hand, the bowling was good, but Dhawal Kulkarni may be replaced by either Ali Murtuza or Abu Nechim in the playing eleven.
On the other hand, the Deccan Chargers, who had lost their previous game to the Pune Warriors India, will look to ensure that they can get their batting sorted. The side will need Kumar Sangakkara, who may be playing in his last game, to come good. Apart from that, there will be a definite need for Sunny Sohal to bat up the order as it does seem like he is wasted down the order.
Players to look out for: While Cameron White will continue to remain out of the side, it will be the batting of JP Duminy that will be one to watch out for. On the other hand, the Mumbai Indians will look to ensure that they can get going with the manner in which they have batted – Sachin Tendulkar needs a big one here.
Prediction: The Mumbai Indians will be favourites to win their ninth game here.
