The Match:
In the 37th game of the Indian Premier League, the Kolkata Knight Riders will take on the King XI Punjab at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The two sides are almost similarly placed; with more wins than losses and that should make for an interesting contest. 
How the two teams match up:
The Kolkata Knight Riders have played seven games and recorded four wins, going into this game with a win under their belt. They had beaten the Delhi Daredevils in the previous game. On the other hand, Kings XI Punjab have three wins from five games. They started off with a punishing loss to Pune before being able to overcome the next three teams and then lost to the Delhi Daredevils. Not that they were disgraced in that loss as they slammed more than 200 in that chase of 230.
Ground Conditions: The game will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata and the track can be expected to be slower than most others in the country. However, a quick outfield should compensate for that and that should make things interesting.
The Teams: Kolkata Knight Riders may have won the previous game but they have some tough decisions to make. For one, they need to think about the position of Eoin Morgan, who hasn’t scored too many runs in the tournament and has been struggling to get the ball off the square.
Then, it is a matter of which of the two all-rounders will play; Shakib al hasan or Ryan ten Doeschate. Ten Doeschate had played in the previous game but that was being played on a pitch which had bounce and something for the pace bowlers. Shakib could thus, make a comeback into the side.
For the Kings XI Punjab, it is a matter of trying to get the right combination – Shalabh Srivastava may have gone for many runs in the last game but on a more difficult Eden wicket, his bowling may be of use. It is also a matter of getting more out of Abhishek Nayar, who is clearly struggling for form.
Players to look out for: Punjab’s captain Adam Gilchrist will be looking to fire and get a big one off his own bat. On the other hand, the Kolkata Knight Riders need Jacques Kallis to come good.
Prediction: Kolkata should win this game given the balance of their side.
