The Match:
This is the 34th game of the Indian Premier League and will see the Mumbai Indians play the Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Man Singh stadium in Jaipur. This will be a home game for the Royals and after their win against the Tuskers at home, they will be confident of taking on the top-placed Mumbai Indians. >
How the two teams match up:
The Mumbai Indians have won five out of their six games, losing only to the Kochi Tuskers. The Rajasthan Royals have had their ups and downs, with the two opening wins, followed by three losses and an abandoned game and then, a win against the Tuskers in their previous game. >
If Mumbai Indians win this one, it will mean that they need to win only two of their seven games to book their place in the knock-outs. On the other hand, if the Royals win it, they will catapult to the second position in the points table behind Mumbai.
Ground Conditions: In the last game, the Tuskers had batted poorly here but it is a pitch that is usually good for all; batsmen and bowlers, whether fast or spin.
The Teams: The Mumbai Indians have no real worries and they will not look to make any changes in the side. The good news is that Davy Jacobs has been able to do a decent job at the top of the innings, but most importantly, he is also an excellent wicket-keeper and will look to ensure that he can continue with the good work.
Sachin Tendulkar lost a bit of form in the previous matches but that has been compensated by the likes of Rohit Sharma finding his and Andrew Symonds supporting him rather well. Lasith Malinga continues to lead the pack by a distance with 16 wickets to his name, as compared to Shane Warne who is next in the list with nine wickets.
Rajasthan did a good job in getting Shane Watson at the top of the order and Ross Taylor at four and one can expect the same from the team in the next game. Ashok Menaria should play, as should Johan Botha which means that Shaun Tait needs to sit out.
Players to look out for: For the Royals, how Rahul Dravid goes about his business at the top of the innings will be interesting to follow. On the other hand, the Mumbai Indians will need Kieron Pollard to get going with the bat.
Prediction: Mumbai Indians will be favourites but the Royals love playing at home and are difficult to beat.
