Kenya will look to avoid a fifth consecutive defeat in the ICC Cricket World Cup when they take on Australia at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday, March 13. >
They have been beaten heavily in all their games so far, even against fellow minnows, Canada. It is an uphill task awaiting them against Australia, who have looked very good in this tournament.
The disappointing thing about Kenya is that they have not put up a fight against any of their opponents. They have been the worst team in the tournament.
The likes of Canada, the Netherlands and Ireland have tested the full members but Kenya have just rolled over. They will want to give a tough game to Australia but will have to do it without their most experienced player, Steve Tikolo. He hasn’t made any useful contribution in this tournament; no one has with the exception of Collins Obuya, but his experience could be handy against a big team like Australia.>
Australia would be disappointed that the game against Sri Lanka was called off, but they could go to first spot in the group, if New Zealand do not win against Canada. Apart from needing the win to top the group, Australia will also want to keep their unbeaten run in the World Cup going, which stretches from the 1999 World Cup.
Australia would not want any mishaps and will look for a comfortable win. They must have seen England and slip up against Bangladesh and Ireland and Pakistan have a really close game against Canada. They had a shaky start against Zimbabwe but were wonderful against New Zealand. However, they will be playing after eight days and could be a bit rusty going into this game.
They will be too much for Kenya to handle and are likely to win by a huge margin.
