South Africa will look to avenge for their close defeat in the last game when they take on India in the third One Day International at the Newlands in Cape Town on Tuesday, January 18. Out of the series>

They lost the second game by just one run, after being prime candidates for a win for most part of the game. They lost six wickets for the last 37 runs, while chasing just 190 runs. India, on the other hand, would be thanking their stars after the win. There was some luck involved in the win, but nobody can take away the fielding and bowling efforts of the Indian bowlers. Munaf Patel, the man of the match, has been impressive in both the games played. He along with Zaheer Khan, were very good in the last game, especially in tight situations. zaheer khan

Munaf should be in prime contention for the World Cup and the selectors will have a head ache when Praveen Kumar is back from injury. However, the real worry would be the form of Ashish Nehra, who has been pretty expensive in both the games played thus far.

The real worry for India would be their batting. To make things worse, Sachin Tendulkar is out for the rest of the series, after he was injured during the second game. Parthiv Patel would be his replacement and also cover for MS Dhoni behind the stumps.

The form of Suresh Raina should also be a worry. The left hander has been struggling for runs in South Africa and needs to find form quickly before the World Cup. Yusuf Pathan should also start this game in Tendulkar’s place, after having been sidelined in the first two games.

South Africa’s bowling has been world class in these two games and they are likely go with the same team for this game as well. However, the turn and bounce that the Newlands offers should be tempting enough to try out either Imran Tahir or Francois du Plessis along with the impressive and economical, Johan Botha.

The game should be very interesting but South Africa have easily been the better team so far and will start as favorites.
