Cameron White will be the deputy to Clarke, while the side will see the return of Callum Ferguson. Ferguson had had a knee reconstruction and was out of competitive cricket for a year.

Australia’s bowling will be led by Doug Bollinger, while Clint McKay, and have James Pattinson, and Mitchell Starc as their four main bowlers.

The players were afforded a break in order to maintain their work balance over the next six months leading up to the World Cup to be played in India. The absence of the frontline players means that the rest of the players will have a huge responsibility on their shoulders.

Dave Warner should open the innings along with either wicket-keeper Tim Paine or Shaun Marsh, but there is no place for Adam Voges or David Hussey.
