Australian pace bowler, Shaun Tait will be out of action as he underwent an operation on his elbow on October 1. This will mean that Tait will not play in the limited overs games between Australia and Sri Lanka, and will also not be a part of the domestic one-day tournament. >
What needs to be seen is whether Tait gets selected for the World Cup which will be played next year in February. The squad for the World Cup will be announced in December and the pace bowler will be pressed for time to not only get himself fit but also play some cricket before the selectors are convinced about his fitness levels.
Tait has been one of Australia’s best bowlers in recent times and had taken the second most number of wickets in the ICC World T20 while being the best bowler in the 2007 World Cup.
What will please the Aussies is that Callum Ferguson has returned back to competitive cricket and will be fit to get selected for the ODI squad. Ferguson was the part of the side before a knee injury meant that he was out of the team for most of this year.
However, after a knee reconstruction, Ferguson returned back to the Champions League T20 and played a couple of good innings.
