The two teams, Warriors and the Chennai Super Kings had both won their respective T20 crowns; the Pro20 in South Africa and the Indian Premier League in India. Will need to provide a start>

Chennai Super Kings had routed the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the first semi-final at the Kingsmead in Durban, whereas the Warriors overcame the South Australian challenge at Centurion in the second semis.

The Super Kings will go into the final of the Champions League T20 understanding that it has been their top three batsmen who have got them through so far. Murali Vijay has been in prime and consistent form, while Michael Hussey has stuck around the innings enough to fast become a headache for the opposition. Suresh Raina has had a couple of 80s and 90s, interspersed with three failures, but he is that kind of a player – if he gets going, it could well be bye-bye to the Warriors chances.

However, despite the low-key performances by MS Dhoni with the bat in the tournament, one must remember that in the most crucial game for the Super Kings, they had beaten the Warriors in the last league game thanks to a Dhoni-cameo.

The Warriors have had Davey Jacobs at the top of the runs-chart and he has almost invariably provided the requisite start to his team. The worry for them in this pressure-final will be whether the rest of the middle-order will be able to live up to the expectations if he gets out early.

The bowling will be in the hands of Juan Theron, with the spinning duo of Nicky Boje and Johan Botha providing the necessary support. However, what will worry the Warriors is the form of Makhaya Ntini – someone who may just be dropped for this one.

As compared to that, the Super Kings have a solid bowling attack as well. Doug Bollinger and the now-fit Albie Morkel will lead the pace, with one getting the feeling that Shadab Jakati could return back to find a place in the side. Muthiah Muralitharan and R Ashwin could hold the key.
