Pietersen, Mascarenhas fined for Twittergate

English cricketers, Dimitri Mascarenhas and Kevin Pietersen have been fined by the English cricket board for their rants against the English selector, Geoff Miller, on Twitter.

English cricketers, Dimitri Mascarenhas and Kevin Pietersen have been fined by the English cricket board for their rants against the English selector, Geoff Miller, on Twitter. Both were fined an undisclosed sum of money, which was in accordance with their contract that they have with the ECB.

Pietersen was fined for his foul-mouthed taunt that saw him getting upset at being dropped from the English side against Pakistan for the T20Is and ODIs. He wrote that despite being the man of the series in the World T20 in West Indies, he was being left out and said that it was a “f***-up”.

However, he had immediately removed the post and apologised for the same, saying that he was not thinking straight when he wrote it. Fined by ECB>

Mascarenhas’ post was more difficult to comprehend. He has not been in the English side for over a year because of injury and yet, he swore at the selector, Miller, for having come to watch the first class game that his side, Hampshire was playing ing and not meeting him.

Mascarenhas tweeted once about it, and then, eight hours later, repeated the dose - taking all his frustration out at the same.

Stuart Broad said that he did not want to join the Twitter brigade, and said that the players had to be responsible of their duties as a cricketer.
