Indian left-handed batsman, Yuvraj Singh was back to the doctor’s table as he was diagnosed with dengue.

Indian left-handed batsman, Yuvraj Singh was back to the doctor’s table as he was diagnosed with dengue. This means that he is out of India’s game against Sri Lanka on August 16 and the side will need to replace him with Virat Kohli or Saurabh Tiwary. Suffering continues>

Yuvraj had earlier suffered from flu in the Test series against the Sri Lankans. After scoring a half century in a lost cause, Yuvraj was down with fever before the start of the second Test and missed the game. He seemed to have recovered from the fever at the end of the second game, but Suresh Raina’s brilliant hundred allowed him to replace Yuvraj Singh.

Then, Yuvraj featured in the first ODI of the tri-series against the Kiwis, but was down with fever at the end of the game. Tests were conducted and it was found that Yuvraj is suffering from a mild form of dengue. He has not been hospitalised and will continue to recover in the hotel.

Indian captain MS Dhoni confirmed that Yuvraj was down with dengue. He also added that Yuvraj was out of danger and will continue to recuperate in Sri Lanka.

Earlier, Dinesh Karthik was hit by a delivery on what Dhoni described as an unsuitable practice wicket to bat on. He missed the rest of the practice, and is in doubt for the game against Sri Lanka. An irked Dhoni cancelled the practice session and condemned the practice wickets.
