Indian number three batsman, Rahul Dravid has said that he is confident of doing well against the mystery spinner, Ajantha Mendis. Mendis was the wrecker-in-chief for the Sri Lankans in that series as he ended it with 26 wickets and in turn won the series 2-1 for his side. Return to international fold>

However, over time, the batsmen over the world have managed to pick him much better and that had meant that on Sri Lanka’s return tour of India, Mendis played only one Test match. He had ended with figures of 2/162 and it showed that the Indians had managed to start playing him much better.

While acknowledging that he was still a very good bowler, Dravid said, “He was completely new to us when we toured Sri Lanka last time. He got the measure our team last time, there is no doubt about it. He played a major role in the series. But hopefully, we have learnt our lesson.”

Dravid will also be returning back to the international fold after six months, having missed the Test series against South Africa. He was injured by a bouncer bowled by Shadahat Hossain in a Test match in Bangladesh. Dravid had scored a century in that game.

The three Test matches will start from the 18th of July, with the first at Galle, to be followed by the second game at the SSC in Colombo and the third at P Sara Oval.
