Tillakaratne Dilsan>, the Sri Lankan batsman was at first happy with is man-of-the-match presentation. However, he rued upon missing a big chance of making it big in the emphatic Sri Lanka 126 runs victory over the Bangladesh team in the Asia Cup cricket match. This match was held at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Friday, 18th June, 2010. Dilsan is glad that he received the man of the match award and even took three wickets, making 150 runs.
Commenting on his own performance, he said that as he was hitting the ball, in the 16th over, he got out. If he had hung a slightly bit longer, he would have made it big. This flamboyant opener had scored ten hundreds last season in all game forms. Smashing 11 fours and a six, Dilshan made a breezy 51 ball of 71. He took three wickets for 37 runs steering his team plenty of time to play.
This right handed batsman added further of his desire to dominate bowling with his powerful strokes. For him, he intends to attack in the first ten overs and settle down playing for long innings. His game plan includes taking the attack to the bowlers and offering his side with a good start. Moreover, he said that he was not surprised with his own bowling performance and knew his own potential skills towards bowling. Since the team played with only one spinner, Muttiah Muralitharan, Dilshan bowled the right line to get the wickets. Other than that, he even aspires to complete his 1000 ODI runs this season.
