Cricket Australia has said that they will take into consideration the opinions of the domestic and international cricketers from Australia. This is related to the decision taken by the Australian cricket board to go ahead with the plans to implement the new format for the fifty overs domestic competition, that may see two innings of 25 overs each. Will welcome the new fifty overs cricket>

James Sutherland, Cricket Australia’s chief executive, said, “Cricket lovers say that ODI cricket captures the broadest interest of the three formats, and it is supported with strong passion,”

He also added that the problem with the 50 overs variety was that it needed a better positioning in the marketing.

The ICC has also said that they will keep a lookout for this particular switch and the move has been supported by former cricketers like Dean Jones and Simon O’Donnell. Jones had earlier said that the ODI was like that goose which had stopped laying golden eggs.

CA said that they will have a talk with the players and combine those thoughts with the broadcast and commercial partners before the new look is finalised.
