Modi to reply to BCCI's show-cause today

Lalit Modi will submit his response to the show-cause notice that the BCCI had issued to him on April 26 by Saturday.

Lalit Modi will submit his response to the show-cause notice that the BCCI had issued to him on April 26 by Saturday. Earlier this week, Modi had asked the BCCI for an extension of five days of his deadline, as he needed some extra documents to prepare his defence. Will give reply today>

It is also said that Modi will himself appear in the BCCI office at the Wankhede, to reply to the charges against Modi. The legal counsel for Modi said, “We will be submitting the reply to the BCCI in the second half tomorrow,”

Abdi, who is one of the legal counsel said that given that Shashank Manohar is a lawyer himself, there cannot be too much time that would be taken by him. He added, “Our reply has been clear. The board’s president [Shashank Manohar] is an eminent lawyer, so it should not take him a long time, we hope, to make a decision.”

The BCCI will now go through the replies sent by Lalit Modi by June and based on that will decide on whether or not, Modi can be reinstated. If they decide not to, then, Modi can take legal action against the board as well.
