Praveen Kumar injured, out of World Cup

Praveen Kumar, India’s medium pace bowler, will not play any more in the ICC World T20 as he has been ruled out of the tournament with an abdominal tear.

The bowler suffered the injury when he was practicing in the nets, and was taken for an MRI scan, where the extent of the injury was revealed. Injured and out of World Cup>

He place in the side will be taken by Umesh Yadav, who had recently impressed everyone with his pace, during the IPL. He had played for the Delhi Daredevils in the IPL and plays for Vidarbha in the Ranji trophy.

Yadav was informed of the selection by the Vidarbha Cricket Association and he should leave for the West Indies on Friday. He will not be a part of the side for the India’s match on Friday, and this could mean that Vinay Kumar could make his debut in the India-Australia game.

Yadav said. “I am completely surprised. And that, too, for a World Cup, I really find it hard to believe. But I have been enjoying my bowling especially in the last year so it is bearing the fruits now.” Yadav was not even in the 30-member preliminary squad for the tournament.
