World T20 Preview: S Africa v New Zealand at Barbados

The second game of the ICC World T20 Super Eight stage will have the South African side take on New Zealand.

The second game of the ICC World T20 Super Eight stage will have the South African side take on New Zealand. South Africa lost their first game to India but came back with a strong performance against Afghanistan. New Zealand won both their games in the group stage and will be going into the game with a lot of confidence. Hasn’t got going yet>

The thing to be noted here is that the game will played at Barbados, on a pitch where there will be ample for the pace bowlers. This will have the South African bowlers salivating given that their bowling is based around pace and some fast one at that. Will look to rip a few throats!>

As compared to that, the New Zealand side has had relied on the spin department, even having Nathan McCullum winning the man of the match award on successive occasions. The issue, now, for New Zealand is that they will need to change things around with their bowling attack, and probably even get someone like a Kyle Mills.

The batting is again where the Proteas may score over the opposition. New Zealand has some good, explosive hitters in their line-up, but the issue is that the likes of Brendon McCullum and Ross Taylor have not yet got going. McCullum will love the ball coming on to the bat here, and hence, it could become an interesting battle, but the fact is that with Loots Bosman and Graeme Smith in a similar position in the other side, the battle between the two teams could also become the battle about which team bats better.

Sporting Bet offers 8/11 for South Africa to win this game, and I would certainly want to bet on them. This is despite the offer of 13/1 (888Sport) on a Kiwi win.
