Brett Lee will not be a part of the ICC World T20 after he was ruled out of the tournament due to injury. Lee suffered from the injury in the warm up game that the Aussies played against Zimbabwe and will now be replaced by either Doug Bollinger or Ryan Harris. >
Lee is suffering from a muscle strain in his right forearm that he sustained in the warm-up game between Australia and Zimbabwe. Both Bollinger and Harris were a part of the IPL for Chennai and Deccan and had a good tournament in India.
Lee, who has yet to play international cricket since October, was to play in this tournament after recovering from the elbow injury he had suffered during the tour of India. Lee scalped 1 for 13 in four economic overs but felt pain after that and the MRI scans revealed the injury and the extent.
A team spokesperson said, βItβs a muscle strain. We have gone to the ICC Technical Committee to ask for a replacement player.β
Ever since missing the Ashes due to injury woes, the fast bowler from New South Wales has been missing out on international games due to his problems with injuries. He has suffered from an elbow injury, thumb fracture and now this muscle strain.
Lee had earlier announced his retirement from the test match cricket in order to concentrate on the shorter version of the game.
