Chirayu Amin appointed as IPL chairman, Modi out

The Governing Council for the IPL has decided to name Chirayu Amin as the interim chairman of the IPL in the absence of the suspended Lalit Modi.

The Governing Council for the IPL has decided to name Chirayu Amin as the interim chairman of the IPL in the absence of the suspended Lalit Modi. Modi had been suspended last night after the IPL ended, by the BCCI chief, Shashank Manohar. Chucked out of the IPL as chairman>

The IPL Governing Council had met up in the BCCI office today and it was decided that there will be an interim chairman named. While rumours were that Manohar would himself assume the reign of the post, it was finally decided that Amin would be a better man to take over.

Manohar addressed the press conference after the meeting and said that that if Modi did get back with the answers to the questions that had been posed and if they were satisfactory, the suspension could be revoked.

In the post match conference, Modi had addressed immediately after the IPL and said that he was not the only man responsible for the decisions that were taken by the IPL Governing Council, and that the agreements would happen in consensus.

Some of the other members of the Governing Council are Arun Jaitley, Rajeev Shukla, and Omar Abdullah, cricketers like, Sunil Gavaskar, MAK Pataudi, Ravi Shastri, apart from other members, IS Bindra, Shashank Manohar, N Srinivasan and others.

Manohar had also said that there were certain documents that were missing which the IT officials had needed and had appointed Ratnakar Shetty to get to the bottom of that matter.
