The Australian selectors named their 15-member side to take on the world in the ICC World T20 to be played in West Indies in April. This will be the third edition of the tournament after the first two were held in South Africa and England respectively. >
The Aussies have named Brett Lee in the 15 member side subject to his fitness. Lee has been out of international cricket ever since he featured in the first ODI in the series between India and Australia in October. However, it is said that he has recovered from his elbow injury. >
Apart from Lee, the selectors have also named the pace duo of Shaun Tait and Dirk Nannes in the side. In the previous edition of the tournament, Nannes had played for the Dutch side.
Dan Christian maintains his place in the side, but what would have come as a surprise is the selection of Michael Hussey. Hussey has been out of T20 cricket for some time now and hence his selection is bound to raise a few eye-brows.
Steven Smith maintains his second spinner’s spot while Australia has also named a reserve wicket-keeper in Tim Paine to Brad Haddin.
The Team: David Warner, Shane Watson, Michael Clarke (capt), Cameron White, David Hussey, Michael Hussey, Tim Paine, Steven Smith, Daniel Christian, Brad Haddin (wk), Brett Lee, Dirk Nannes, Mitchell Johnson, Nathan Hauritz, Shaun Tait.
