The Delhi Daredevils will take on the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 26th game of the DLF IPL on Monday at the Feroz Shah Kotla. Both the sides have gone through the various ups and downs in the tournament and have won three and lost three games and the winner of the match will get into the top five position in the points table, depending on the net run-rate. Cutting a sorry figure>

The Daredevils will be feeling a tad more relaxed; after all they had had a rather nasty run of losses under the captaincy of Dinesh Karthik, but then went on to win the previous game against the top notched team, the Royal Challengers Bangalore. This is not to say that the side will be easy winners against another side which has really struggled through most part of the tournament after winning their first couple of games. andrew mcdonald

The difference, according to me, between the two sides is that of the captain. While the Knight Riders skipper Sourav Ganguly is struggling with his form, the other captain, Dinesh Karthik, despite being a stand-in captain for Gautam Gambhir has had no such issues. Ganguly has cut a sad figure with the bat in the tournament so far, and despite his best efforts, he has not been able to break free and get the really big runs.

Delhi, on the other hand, were bolstered by the presence of Kedar Jadhav and Umesh Yadav, both of whom had an excellent first match of the IPL. Whether they will be able to continue in the same vein remains to be seen, but in the company of Andrew McDonald, they at least give the Delhi side an option to try things around.

To me, Delhi is a definite favourite, and will go into the game at 4/6 (Boylesports) as compared to Sporting Bet’s offer of 4/3 for a Kolkata win.
