Delhi Daredevils beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 17 runs in the 20th game of the series to get their campaign back on track at Bangalore. Turned things around with Kallis wicket>

The Delhi Daredevils were put into bat by the Royal Challengers Bangalore and were off to flying start thanks to their opening pair of Dave Warner and Virender Sehwag. Warner was first off the blocks as he hit Praveen Kumar for a six, and followed it up with another six off Dale Steyn in the second over of the game. No support from the middle order>

He followed it up with three boundaries, and was going for another one when he was caught at the boundary off the bowling of Steyn. Sehwag could not get going and followed soon after to leave the Daredevils at 58/2 in five overs, but AB de Villiers looked to be coming back into form with a knock of 45. It was a supremely well built innings, and saw him use up 35 balls to do so, but most importantly, he along with Dinesh Karthik did not allow the Bangalore bowlers to dominate with their strategy to bowl the short ball.

When Karthik departed at the score of 101, there was a good 50 balls remaining, but a relatively inexperienced bowling down the order. In walked one of the debutants for Delhi, Kedar Jadhav and from the very outset, went after the bowling. He did not spare anyone including Steyn and hit a couple of sixes and five fours to score an unbeaten 50 off 29 balls. In partnership with Andrew McDonald, added 49 runs off 23 balls to propel the Delhi score to 183/5 in the 20 overs.

In reply, Jacques Kallis and Manish Pandey continued their fine form at the top of the order with a 71 run partnership. Unfortunately for the Royals, the partnership came off nine overs, which meant that the asking rate had crept up to ten runs per over.

And once Kallis was dismissed off a super googly by Amit Mishra, the rest of the batsmen found the going very difficult. Robin Uthappa smacked a huge six but then was back at his cheeky worst, trying to use those scoops and reverse sweeps to garner the runs and only managed to top-edge it to the wicket-keeper in the process.

The running between the wickets left lot to desire as Rahul Dravid, Eoin Morgan and Vinay Kumar were all run-out and in the end, the steep asking rate proved to be their undoing. The task proved to be a tad too steep and the Delhi Daredevils won by 17 runs.

This was their third win in six games, and Bangalore has four wins off six matches.
