There has been a clash between the Pakistan Cricket Board and manager of the Pakistan side on tours, Abdur Raqib. The problem was based on the fact that Raqib had earlier announced that he had not said anything against the players which could have caused their penalties. Was one the central figures in the whole Pakistan saga>

However, the PCB has come out with a statement to the contrary saying that Raqib’s reports as a manager were used as a baseline to give out the punishments.

Raqib had earlier spoken against the fines and expressed his surprise and disappointments at the magnitude of the penalty. However, according to the PCB, it was Raqib himself who wanted the players fined for their misdemeanours.

According to Raqib, the team unity was affected by the rift between Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf. Younis Khan had dropped Yousuf on the grounds of fielding to which the player replied that it was how he had been fielding all his life.

The Raqib report also blamed the Akmal brothers for the manner in which they behaved at the end of the Sydney Test match. There was also a mention of the brawl that took place between Yousuf and the coach, Intikhab Alam after he was made to sit out of the fifth ODI and Shahid Afridi made two changes to the playing eleven.
