As the third edition of IPL is approaching, Bollywood actor and co-owner of the Rajasthan Royals, Shilpa Shetty > hopes that the Shane Warne led team would re-live the first year’s glory of winning the tournament again. The Rajasthan team won the inaugural edition of the Twenty20 tournament held in 2008 and finished with an unimpressive sixth position in 2009 when the event was organized in South Africa.
On her visit to the Rajasthan Cricket Academy premises in Jaipur, Shilpa said that though they finished in the sixth place in the Indian Premier League in South Africa, this first edition champions would definitely move ahead once again when the third edition will take place. The IPL tournament will be commencing from March 12 onwards with the Rajasthan Royals opening their own campaign by playing against the Mumbai Indians in an away match the very next day.
Shetty who was in Jaipur along with her husband and the team’s co-owner, Raj Kundra took part in an environmental awareness programme along with other Rajasthan Royals > players and captain, Shane Warne. She even planted a sapling at the Rajasthan Cricket Academy premises and said that she quite remembered her mother asking her to plant a sapling on each of her birthdays. Also, Shilpa added that as per her opinion, Plantation is more significant for Rajasthan as the state frequently faces a tough drought environment. With global warming signs, the planet needs to be saved and this can be done only by saving the environment. This message has to be loud and clear and Shilpa thinks it would be appreciated if people gather together and do the same kind gesture. It is ultimately the mother earth who gives the masses so much and it is the duty of the people to save the earth.
Moreover, this IPL franchise, Rajasthan Royals even launched their music video for the forthcoming season and had announced a special limited ticket programme too. Both Shilpa and Kundra unveiled the mascot of the team ’Moochu Singh’, a lion with a big moustache. Shilpa added that the team wished to set a benchmark and even adopt an innovative approach, where the aim is to create a niche and make every match of the Royals in Jaipur and Ahmedabad unforgettable.
At the music video, Shilpa is seen dancing to the tunes of the anthem of the team, “Halla Bol” with an animated mascot ‘Moochu Singh’ and other chorus dancers. Moreover, this music video will bring to life the biggest and the first fan of the team ‘Moochu Singh’ in all his glory. The ticket program too, ’Blue Carpet’ will be provided in two variants, gold and silver with an exclusive pass to the president’s gallery, five star cuisine, VIP accreditation for the day, VIP valet parking and such special events.
