The former Pakistani player and captain, Waqar Younis Waqar Younis> will be the new coach of the Pakistan cricket team replacing Intikhab Alam Khan. Presently, Younis will be the 4rth coach of the Pakistan team in the last three years and will be taking charge of the team until December 2011.

These days, Waqar lives in Sydney and will arrive in Pakistan within a week. His first and foremost assignment will be to defend the Twenty20 crown in the ICC Twenty20 World Cup to be held at the Carribean. PCB even considered a number of other options for the top job but Younis was the favorite of all.

Younis is quite honored to take on this role as its very exciting for him. He even hopes that he delivers good role. Cricket has given a lot of him over the years and he too would like to give something back to cricket and his country. With cricket being a passion and aggression, Younis expects his team to do the same. Having worked twice as the bowling coach of Pakistan, being the head coach would be something of a challenge for Waqar Younis.

Younis further adds that lack of coaching experience would not have any negative impact on him or his performance. He will probably have more control of many situations and have his input of decisions heard too. As a bowling coach, he actually enjoyed his time like during the first one under Bon.
