The PCB has issued a press release that has said that the Pakistani players will not be available for the 2010 edition of the Indian Premier League. The Pakistani board, which had earlier issued NOCs for the participation has now cancelled the same. Will not be playing in the IPL>

The chairman of the PCB, Ejaz Butt, has said that none of the players will go to the IPL in this season. He cited the reason as the insult meted out to them during the auctions when none of the players were selected to go for the tournament.

Only minutes earlier, the press release that had been issued had read out, “In the future if any player receives an invitation for participation in IPL events, PCB will decide the matter on a case-to-case basis after consulting the relevant government authorities”

After none of the Pakistani cricketers had been selected for the IPL, there had been a public outrage about the same in the country. Then, there had been news that Abdul Razzaq had been approached by one of the franchises to play for them in the tournament.

However, following comments from Shah rukh Khan, the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders that the Pakistanis should have played in the tournament, he had received a warning to think before talking by a political party in Maharashtra.
