India easily beat Bangladesh in the last league game of the tri-series by six wickets. It was an inconsequential game with India having already qualified for the final and Bangladesh already out of the tournament. Second ODI century>

Bangladesh batted first, but were soon in trouble when Sudeep Tyagi got rid of Imrul Kayes in the third over. Mohammad Ashraful also did not last long, and despite a 45-run partnership for the third wicket, the hosts were soon struggling at 95/5.

It was then left to the captain Shakib al Hasan to play a comeback from behind innings. In Mahmudullah, he found an able ally as the pair slowly got the innings back on track. Hasan, in fact, looked good to get to his century before getting out for 85 with almost five overs to spare.

Mahmudullah, on the other hand, smacked through the last four overs to get to an unbeaten 64, and in company of Naeem Islam (22 off 14) got the hosts to 247/6.

Chasing 248 was never going to be too difficult for the strong Indian batting line-up. As it turned out, Dinesh Karthik and Gautam Gambhir added 64 for the first wicket, and even when Gambhir was the second batsman out, India was 87/2 in the 15th over.

It was here that Virat Kohli took the bull by its horns and batted his way to another century. Dhoni gave him company for another 68-run stand, but in the end, it was Kohli who saw the side through with seven overs to spare. Kohli also won the man of the match award.
