West Indian pace bowler Jerome Taylor was arrested by the police for assault in a bar in Kingston. He was later freed by the police.
Taylor was charged with using indecent language, assaulting a police officer, improper conduct and resisting arrest by local police in his parish, St Elizabeth. The police had apparently asked the bar to close at 11pm, after which the West Indian pace bowler became abusive and then almost violent when the police tried to arrest him.
Taylor had been a part of the West Indian side for the first test match in Australia recently before he sustained an injury and had to fly back to his country. He has played in 29 Tests and 62 ODIs so far.
