Ravi Bopara accused of ball tampering by Dermot Reeve

Central District coach, Dermont Reeve has doubts that Ravi Bopara tampered with the ball in a cricket match. Bopara made his match winning performance for Auckland in the New Zealand Cricket One day competition which was held in Palmerstone North. However, Reeve is not happy with the way the England import fiddled around with the ball.

Reeve, who is a former England cricketer, said that he actually saw Bopara picking at the seam to get the ball to reverse swing during the failed run chase of Central District. Bopara had previously scored a century claiming one for 51 in about ten over’s of medium pace.

On the other hand, Bopara’s coach, Paul Strong denied this claim. He said that it was rather a windy day and the ball does funny things too. None of the concerns by Reeve were addressed to him. With his denial, Reeve was not happy at all. As per his comment, he (Strang) comments is ridiculous. Reeve is sure that the ball has been tampered and one proof is that he had seen and witnessed it through his binoculars.
