The West Indian side were resuming at their overnight score of 308/9, and needed 51 runs for an outside, and almost improbable win. Kemar Roach and Gavin Tonge added 15 runs to their overnight total, but Doug Bollinger then managed to beat the bat to get a favourable caught-behind decision from the umpire. Well bowled and took last wicket>

The batsman was not happy and sent it upstairs for a review. The replays proved inconclusive and the decision was upheld by the third umpire to give Australia the win.

Chris Gayle won both, the man of the match and the man of the series awards after a couple of sizzling centuries in the series.
